Error:

Windows cannot format this drive. Quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using this drive and make sure that no window is displaying contents of the drive. Then try formatting again.

Cause:

An application with the file that is on the disk is opened, or a window displaying the contents is open in 'Windows Explorer' or in 'My Computer'.

Solution:

Exit all applications that are open and close all windows displaying the contents of the drive being formatted, and format the disk.
